Default Now that BMP is out, why are so many people regretting not getting it?

This is just a small rant that I just wanted to let out.

Ok, the exact same thing happened with the GW:EN Preview Event. ANet gave everyone a few months notice and advertised everywhere. A lot of us got it, but a few of us didn't.

AFTER the event started, everyone started complaining and petitioning that they didn't have the money or had technical problems and couldn't get it. Why then, if you knew you wanted it, did you not start a petition sooner?

There is a reason why it is called a *BONUS*. You have to meet a requirement to get it, and everyone knew what the requirements were.

Some of us who actually earned the freaking bonus might feel cheated if they bought 3 unnecessary character slots to meet the requirements just to find out that ANet was going to release it for sales. I bought GW:EN online and qualified.

For those of you who are younger and couldn't get it, or your parents wouldn't get it for you, I understand. Sorry.

I guess ANet could extend the requirement period for those of you who "didn't have money for it or had technical problems" but didn't say anything until after the release.

People have been petitioning to buy the BMP in the store before it even came out.

People are pissed because
A: Not every country it's needed to have a credit card. ( we for instance use the pin system in the Netherlands).
B: They had a paypal pol or to pay by sms. Where's that now? (No you don't need a credit card to use paypal, you can make a bankdeposit to it!!!!)
C: People like me expected perhaps some green items from the missions, Not 4 collections of Great Skins for every character class to attain :X

I bet most of the people who could have gotten it didn't because they think it wasn't worth it (because a box of a video game is worth so much more than more game content). They didn't wanted it.
Now that it's out and it OWNS, they are like "o snap liek PETITION I REGRET IT NOW BUT IM NOT GOING TO TELL IT LIKE IT IS BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE MY E-PEEN SMALLER THAN IT ALREADY IS!!1"

I don't regret not getting the BMP.

I regret not being able to get the BMP.

Big difference.

Exactly. Mr. Groovey proved your point with his comment C.

According to so many GW players, ANet makes crap content and it's not worth buying. So they don't get it, only to regret it later. I don't feel sorry those people.

A lot of people are just making lame excuses for why they didn't or "couldn't" get it.

For those of you who genuinely had trouble getting it, ignore my rant.

... I'd say something nifty so we could all laugh at you, but I'm laughing too much already. You're funny.

I don't have the BMP enabled, simply because I'm paranoid and don't want to put up my bank account info on the internet. Heck, some people even got charged 50 dollars (clicked 5 times in the online store) but didn't get any char slots at first, which was another reason for me to distrust the system.

Furthermore, loads of people are underage and their parents are the ones who decide what gets to be done with money; even though I was 18 back when it was promoted and stuff, I already know my parents wouldn't do it for me, and I'm quite sure I'm not the only one with that kind of parents.

ANet will be implementing an SMS payment option in the 'near future'. A bit too late, else I would've gotten it.

I'm not ranting about not having the BMP, simply because it's just more dumb PvE that could've cost me more than the game (as in, EotN, loads of people bought EotN in the online store after the BMP info was out) costed me in real life (I had 2 price reduction coupons anyway). But fact is that not everybody was able to get it. I just hope ANet will give everybody a proper chance to obtain bonus content.

Where's the PayPal Poll? You mean the poll where about half of people said they would not use PayPal?

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10174846

The BMP was the only reason I would buy GW:EN from the online store. The $39.99 you pay in store includes the box, manual, and CD (not to forget the packing and shipping costs). The online store charges you the same amount while forgoing those things above. I'm sure A-Net knows this and knows that people would rather have the box physically. To me, the BMP was like getting the box. You can argue that there are other things in the store one could purchase (like character slots) and that's true, but it seems it was mainly set up for GW:EN. It was a promotion, a bonus, and it was known for months.

I regret not having BMP because :

- I was an early GW fan since World Preview event
- I was looking to enjoy playing all the classes so :
- I bought 2 prophecies accounts from the start, including 1 collector
- I later bought a third prophecies account
- I then bought 2 Factions when it came out, moved chars from 3rd to second account.
- Then i bought Nightfall on main, bought char slots and moved chars from 2nd to main
- I later bought more character slots for mules and pvp

So i regret not having BMP because :
I bought 6 games
I bought 7 caracter slots

And somehow it feels as if Arena net doesnt judge me as a good customer.

There are some of us whose parents are afraid of us contacting the outside world. Don't hate on us just because you can spend money whenever you want.

Check my posts in that thread, I made some effort to make it to people clear:

You can use PAYPAL without having a CC. You can make a BANKDEPOSIT to it.
So people without a cc, can still can make internetz purchases. It's not a preffered way of paying in my Country. (The netherlands).

I still don't own gwen, and want to buy 2 char slots to have all the profs in game. But i'm not going to pay a lot of money to get a credit card, so I can only make 1 purchase through the ingame store. LAME!

You clearly did not read my post thoroughly. I specifically said that I understand if you are younger and your parents wouldn't get it for you. I wasn't hating on players like you at all.

That was an idiotic as hell question to have in the poll. Does that mean that because there are a lot of people that don't use PayPal that they *shouldn't* have PayPal be available in the store?

I actually haven't seen GW:EN going for 40 bucks in any store so far.

Well, perhaps their guilds/alliances are talking about the new items and discussing the new missions and then they're getting left out and ignored. Naturally they'd either get mad and rage, or they'd be jealous and regretful.

Believe me, I know how they feel.

And you don't have the BMP because? Remember there was a requirement.

I shop at Wal-Mart, Best-Buy and Food Lion all the time and they never give me anything, sometimes I feel like they don't judge me as a good customer. *sigh*

Yeah I know you can use PayPal to make a bank deposit, I have done it in the past. Pay a lot of money to get a credit card? That's interesting.
